Home Brewing System - What Home Brewing Equipment Do You Need?

Are you interested in the idea of creating a home brewing system, but not sure where to start? Doing so isn’t overly complicated, but it’s important that you have an understanding of what needs to be done in order to do it the right way.

Getting Started

The first step in the process of creating a home brewing system is to determine the type of beer that you want to brew. Perhaps you want to have a variety of beer, or just one specific kind. Regardless of what you choose, this is the first step.

The next step is to acquire the necessary supplies for your home beer brewing system. If you are indeed just starting out, more than likely you don’t have the ingredients and equipment to brew the beer at home yet. Here are some of the essentials.

Equipment

Brew pots and kettles are two items that are needed for the home beer brewing process. Using regular pots and pans aren’t encouraged for several reasons. First, chances are they won’t be sufficient in size. Second, you will not be able to cook food in these pans after using them to brew beer, unless you want beer residue in your food.

Stick to your budget when purchasing equipment, but be sure to buy quality supplies so they last a long time.

Finally, before creating your brewing system do the proper research and have a plan. This results in having a better understanding of what is required and avoiding unnecessary problems. You want the process of brewing beer to be a fun activity, and being prepared before starting is the key.

Learning about Stoneware

December 8, 2009 | By admin In Home Brewing | Comments(0)

Stoneware has been around for a very long period. Archeologists have located stoneware from as far back in time as the 11th Century. Stoneware, unlike earthenware, is created at a much larger temperature and generated from a grayish colored clay. Porcelain, though identified by some to be stoneware appears whiter because it does not hold onto the inconsistencies of stoneware that offer it that standard color effect. This makes stoneware more provisional and specific kinds of stoneware may be glazed. This gives it a attractive, yet normal look.

In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, German stoneware had an ornate design on jugs that came off as faces on the handles. In American businesses, stoneware is the often dinnerware for good and constant dining. For the environmentally sensitive, stoneware is created from normal materials like feldspar, quartz and others. The clay from which it is made is pretty good of a range of temperatures at which it can be fired to give it random characteristics like a pebble effect.

Stoneware isnt just for kitchen eating. Stoneware jugs, vases, trivets and decorative medallions are made up a selection of stoneware products that create conversations details for the home as well as adding beauty to the make up of a room. However, cooks will certainly never part with their stoneware cooking items that hold flavor and juices and go from oven to table easily. One of the biggest household stoneware products is a pizza stone. Doughs made on stoneware cook comprehensively and evenly. Soups and stews offered in stoneware keep heat much sweeter than any other product. This is also true of stoneware cups and dishes.

Stoneware is buyable where ever dinnerwear and home decorations are sold and is priced admirably.

The Eco Cuppa – Eco Friendly Kettles

November 26, 2009 | By admin In Home Brewing | Comments(0)

Nobody can deny that in Britain we love our tea. Each year a staggering 229 million cups of tea and coffee are drank every day which means enough water is boiled to fill 22 Olympic sized swimming pools.

However, that is unfortunately not the case, as most people when they ‘put the kettle on’ tend to fill it with more water than they actually need. And even if we try and put just enough water in the kettle for our cuppa, it will either still be too much or worse still not enough, meaning we have to refill the kettle and boil it again.

Fortunately a range of eco Kettles are available that are specially designed to help you avoid this unnecessary waste by getting the amount of water just right.

These eco kettles, whist holding up to a litre and a half of water, only heat the amount of water required, from one cup to the whole lot.

Some of these eco kettles are even optimised for the perfect temperature, delivering hot water at 80°c for speciality teas, 90° for coffee and 100° boiling for regular tea.

These intelligent eco-kettles mean that we can save a third of the energy every time we turn the kettle on. Not only does this mean the kettle will boil quicker and we get our tea sooner but we can make quite dramatic savings on our electricity bills.

An eco kettle is not expensive either and is comparable with a regular kettle, however, the savings in running the kettle will soon pay off because an eco kettle will save you money every single time you put the kettle on.

Richard N Williams is interested in green innovations and writes about them. Please visit our website if you are interested in eco kettle or other eco-friendly products.

Organic Production for Conservation

November 4, 2009 | By admin In Home Brewing | Comments(0)

Some of the most common biohazards in foods are Salmonella, which is found in poultry, eggs and unprocessed milk and meat, and Campylobacter, this comes from chicken that has not been cooked thoroughly.  There are also bacteria’s in cheeses that can infect people.  The Listeria bacteria can be found in uncooked hot dogs and deli meats.

Animals can be infected with Biohazards at any time, during the raising, slaughtering or processing cycle.  Improper handling by sorkers in the slaughterhouse, stores or restaurants can cause biohazards.  Most parasites and biohazards can be avoided by thoroughly cooking all meats.  Bacteria breeds in meats and they require high temperatures to be removed.  Food left unrefrigerated can become infected; using utensils from an infected food product can transfer that infection to another product.

Fresh fruit or produce can be infected by other produce if they are washed with contaminated water.  Water that has been in contact with manure or human waste should never be around fruit or produce.  Through testing standards that the government has put into place the incidences of biohazards have been reduced.  They have placed restrictions on what can be brought into and taken out of countries, also reducing biohazards that are brought in with infected fruits and meats.

There are 4 levels of biohazards and how can they harm humans. In level one comes non-infectious bacteria which have the lowest level of danger to humans. Then in level two comes hepatitis A,B and C then comes influenza A and some other viruses. In level three yellow fever and typhus. And Finally in level four comes H5N1 which is known as bird flue and some other fatal dangerous viruses.

Home Beer Brewing Secrets Review

October 24, 2009 | By admin In Home Brewing | Comments(0)

Alright so I just finished reading over the Home Beer Brewing Secrets eBook. This guide is actually the best one I have purchased on this topic. It was filled with explanations and a full step by step guide that I needed.

There were many sections to this eBook. It starts off with the explanation of what is in beer and how beer tastes like it does. The book also goes over how many home beer brewing kits fail to even make beer. The eBook does talk about one tool in particular that will help stop your beer from spoiling, and it’s so simple you’ll laugh when you read it. I honestly didn’t even realize it. I’m not going to tell you here obviously but you will find out when you read Home Beer Brewing Secrets.

The eBook also goes into how to pair beer with certain foods. Normally you think you can only pair wine up with a meal, but this guide will turn you into a beer connoisseur, you will know exactly what types of beer to drink with what meal.

Another important aspect this home beer brewing guide covers is how to properly store your home brew. After you brew your beer at home, or make beer at home, you will need to know how to store it properly.

Aside from the regular beer making steps, this guide goes over and beyond the normal. Home Beer Brewing Secrets talks about the history of beer, some tips on how to drink and enjoy beer responsibly, proper beer tasting techniques, and even how beer may be healthy for you.

Honestly if you’re sick and tired of paying an arm and a leg for “premium beer” then you should check out this make beer at home guide. Before you know it you will have your own home brewery and you’ll be making all the premium brands for pennies on the dollar.
